“Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and mildly socially retarded, I’m a complete disaster.”
FanGirl is based on twin sisters Cather and Wren, at home it’s just (completely brilliant and slightly kookie)dad and them.College is starting but the girls are at opposite ends of the spectrum when comparing their personalities and how excited they are to start lectures. Cath, the quieter of the two struggles to settle into college life and wishes for nothing but home, while clinging to her ever faithful fan fiction and followers. Cath has to decide for herself whether to open her heart to the possibility of new friends, new experiences and new loves, other than the ones she has dreamt up.
This book speaks to the introvert and socially awkward side of me ( which is pretty much all ).College is a scary prospect for anyone and Rainbow’s novel has captured the emotions and thoughts so beautifully, that the characters fly off the page urging me to grab for my own copy whenever I need a little comfort and pleasant love. A great pick me up for the geeks out there, and those whose need a fab casual read.
